24th of July Mapleton Style

This year Nathan and I planned to take the 24th of July off since we live in Mapleton and that is the big summer city celebration.  It ended up that Nathan had to work so Malorie and I took Lily to the parade and park to play games.  Then later that night Nathan and I took her down to the area that they have dinner, entertainment and fireworks.

We did a lot of fun things, but the highlight was the pony ride. Lily was also pretty fond of all the candy and otter pops being tossed over to us.

We finished the afternoon by eating snow cones and cotton candy.  Delish!

Lily Turns 3!!

We have had a lot of fun this month for Lily's Birthday celebrations.  We did the Princess Festival, did 4th of July fireworks, etc went to our first movie and then celebrated with cake and ice cream with the family. Lily had a great day being treated like the Princess Lily Randall that she has proclaimed to be.

First Day of Preschool

Today was our first day of preschool.  After much pain and suffering, lost sleep and second guessing we finally decided on a preschool for Lily.  Oh man parenting is hard sometimes!  Lily was very excited to go this morning.  We talked about how she would meet new friends, and learn new things and that she should listen to her teacher.

We also told them that she was a very caring, loving, energetic and fun little girl who loves to dance and sing, and is great and memorization.  We also slipped in that she can be a "little" stubborn and get frustrated when things don't work right away.

When we dropped her off she really didn't even look back, she just jumped right in.  I have a feeling that her not looking back is going to be a theme throughout her life--this little girl is going to be able to tackle anything!
