Christmas

It has been a tough Christmas this year without Grandma Obershaw.  It is only the second time in my life that I spent the holiday away from my mom and not in St George.  I guess it is time to start our own little flower farm traditions.

We got together with Aunt Rahel and made sugar cookies.  We made Grandma Mary's recipe with my favorite buttercream frosting--such a good combination.  Lily decorated her first cookie for Santa-Sure hope Santa loves lots of sprinkles.  Actually I think Lily ate most of the sprinkles for her cookie.  When we told her it was time to go get a bath she said, "NOOO, I play cookie!!!!"

We got PJs and a movie for Christmas Eve, but we were invited to go over the Bible's house so we ditched the movie to go be with friends.  We had appetizers, sang Christmas carols while Nathan played for us and had a great time.

Christmas Eve..Goodnight everyone

Here are a few pictures from our Christmas morning festivities.  It took Lily a couple of hours to get through all her presents since she wanted to play with each toy.  I love this age and cherish that she actual likes each present and wants to play with it.  We are so lucky to have this little girl in our family.

Big Smile

Nate has been traveling a lot the past few weeks.  I have been taking photos of Lily to text him  Last night I asked her to smile--she responded with this smile and a "mama take a pict"  I am trying to figure out where these dimples came from--I need to look at some family photos to see if we can figure it out.

Hostess Cupcakes

With the devastating news that Hostess was going out of business we rushed to the store and bought some of the last boxes of their famous cupcakes.  Lily had her first and maybe last of the yummy devils food cake with the frosting that you can never duplicate at home.

When she sees these pictures on my phone she says, "Lily eat choc"  It must have made an impression!

Thanksgiving Weekend

We had a great Thanksgiving this year, although small we were together.  This year has been full of firsts and this was our first Thanksgiving without Grandma Obershaw.  We stayed home for the first time in forever and I got to use my new kitchen.  The double ovens and warming drawer are awesome.

Yes those are toes on the table--we kept it pretty casual this year.

It was also Nate's Birthday over the weekend.  I sort of love that he always wants an icecream cake--that means I never have to make it!

Everytime Lil sees this photo she says Hap Birsda Daddy!

While we were singing to Nate you could tell that Lily thought the festivities were for her--good thing Dad was willing to share the fun of blowing out the candles...

Lily found a cozy spot to hang out and play with her sticker book.
