Easter Dresses

Here we are in our Easter Dresses.  I actually purchased mine a couple of years ago for a friends wedding. I picked up Lily's for someones wedding who was planning on having raspberry and tangerine for their colors.  Not naming names here, but they ended up eloping so we decided to use the dress for Easter.  I was getting ready and Nate asked if I was going to wear my matching dress.  I thought that was cute of him to think about it so I went for it.  I mean how many more Easter's will there be when she will think it is fun to match with mom. Nate wore his orange tie so we looked very matching at church.  I wish we would have thought about getting a photo with him and Lily too, but we were rushing to get to church.

She put her Easter hat on by herself--I love how it is way back on her head!

President's Day Ouchie

Since Nate and I were off work we thought it would be fun to take Lily to a trampoline park and jump. She had been with Malorie several times and had a lot of fun so we went for it.  We were there about 45 minutes and close to leaving.  I had been jumping with Lily and needed a break so I tagged out.  Lily and Nate were jumping and somehow Lil hurt her ankle.  I saw her sitting and crying and usually this is brief, but when I saw the look on Nate's face and they were still not moving after a few minutes I headed out.  Once we got off the trampolines and had her try to walk on it she screamed and couldn't put any weight on it.  We were getting ready to go and she just kept pointing at other activities she had not been able to get to yet.

So we let her ride the elephant and then we left.  We ended up going into the doctor and of course she screamed the entire time because of her Dr anxiety.  Since Nate and I were scheduled to leave the next day for a 2 day work meeting he wanted us to take her over for X-rays.

Lily got right up on the table and laid down, but the technician took so long that she started getting nervous and just wanted to get down.  I ended up sitting on the X-ray table with her and Nate held her foot in place by force so we could get the X-ray done.  Luckily nothing was broken.  Just a bad sprain.  She wore a wrap for about a week and had to miss her weekly classes, but she felt better the next week.

It is no fun when little ones get hurt this young and there is not much you can do for them to make them feel better.

After a long day between the Dr visit, the X-rays, and back to the doctor to learn how to wrap her ankle--we were all ready for bed.

The make-up mess

Lily likes to come in my bathroom while I am getting ready.  I put some brushes and make-up in the bottom drawer that she was allowed to play with. Up to this point there hasn't been any mess.  I finished getting ready and this is what I found.  Good thing it was on Dad's side of the bed.

A taste of Spring

The week Nate was in Columbia was beautiful.  Lily and I got to take her bike out for a spin for the first time outside and enjoy a few other activities.

I love how she is singing and riding and just taking in all the sites of the neighborhood.  She only fell once while she was out and about.

We ate dinner a corn on the cob with corn holders.  She ate every bit of corn off this cob.  It cracks me up the hairstyles Lily has sometimes.  This one reminds me of Napoleon Dynamite.  Her hair grows forward so if her bangs get too long they are falling in her face all the time.

The next night we took cookies out on the back deck and enjoyed the sunset.

Valentines and St Patrick's Day

Lily and Malorie made us such a cute Valentine I had to share it.

Our little Valentine eating her chocolate

Nate was in Columbia for St Patrick's Day.  During the weekend Lily and I had a movie night and she ate a ton of popcorn--she loves popcorn now!  Then we made green rice crispy treats to take to my primary girls.

Lily is far more interested in Mulan than taking time out for a photo

Lily's idea of helping out with the rice crispy treats included eating as many marshmallows as possible and getting all the baby spoons out of the drawer to put in the bowl.

Disney on Ice

In March we went to see our very first Disney on Ice show.  We splurged for the "best seats in the house"  it was so much fun.  Lily was occupied by her $12.00 snow cone for the first act (good thing it came with a take home cup).  She spent the second act dancing and singing to the music.  Oh boy she is already performing!

Our pretty princess is all ready to go meet her princess friends

Good thing she really enjoyed the $12 snow cone

We had great seats and there is Cinderella and Prince Charming right in front.
